Welcome to my page and thank you for visiting First Baptist Church’s website. As you click the various tabs, you will see information about schedule, events, history, etc. and I encourage you to roam around the site. My purpose on this page is to help you sense the heartbeat and lifeblood of what FBC Vernal is all about. To put it simply, the lifeblood of FBC Vernal is Jesus and His Word, and its heartbeat is missions.
We are a Bible-believing, Bible-teaching, Bible-living body of Jesus Christ. The Bible is the plumb-line of all we do. And since Jesus Christ is THE WORD, He is the plumb-bob of the plumb-line. In all that we are and all that we do we strive to honor and lift up Jesus Christ, from the cross that is seen as you drive up to the church to the little babies in the nursery. As we lift up Jesus Christ before this lost and hurting world, we believe He will draw every person to Himself.
We are an ACTS 1:8 church in obedience to Jesus’ command to “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel…” Mark 16:15. We desire to share the true and real Jesus of the Bible with our friends and neighbors, many of whom are Latter Day Saints, and who believe in a Jesus who is fictional in his beginnings and unable to save them. We strive to speak the truth of God’s Word in the love that is Jesus Christ.
We are also looking beyond the Ashley Valley and are seeing the multitudes of lost in our “Judea” (North-East Utah), “Samaria” (Utah and Idaho) and “the end of the earth” (anywhere else we can imagine). We are working to reach them through our giving and going. Through our mission efforts as a church and that of the Southern Baptist Convention, over 1 million people come to saving faith in Jesus Christ every year.
